Snaige Sileika was born in Toronto, Canada in 1955 and studied Visual Arts at the University of Toronto where she received a BA. She then moved to Paris, France to study printmaking at the École des Beaux Arts and William Hayter’s Atelier 17.
Upon her return to Toronto, she worked as a graphic designer for Original Serigraphs Inc. and taught printmaking at Three Schools of Art, Open Studio, The Neilson Park Centre, and Etobicoke School of the Arts.
Sileika has had solo exhibitions in Canada, France and Lithuania. In 2003, Michael Glassbourg chose Sileika to be the subject of his documentary “An Artists’s Life” aired on Bravo! TV.
Sileika served on the Board of Directors at Open Studio in Toronto and continues to be very involved with this printmaking community.
